Les buts généraux étaient d'identifier de nouveaux analogues de la mithramycine, MTM, un acide auréolique déjà connu pour ses activités anti-tumorales, aux propriétés pharmacologiques et toxicologiques améliorées, et d'examiner les effets et le mécanisme d'action de ces composés dans les cellules cancéreuses et normales. L'activité anti-tumorale de la MTM dépend de sa capacité à se lier à des séquences de l'ADN riches en GC. Nous avons créé différents analogues par biosynthèse.
